500 years of school history: Start festival concerts in Bad Bergzabern!

On June 14, 2025, a particularly festive event will be celebrated in the Alfred Grosser School Center Bad Bergzabern: The high school can look back on an impressive story of 500 years. The beginnings of this educational institution go back to 1525 when a Latin school was founded here. Numerous events are planned for the anniversary that celebrate the school's diverse legacy and bring together the school community.

The festival year is opened with a solemn anniversary concert. This will take place on Saturday, June 21st in the picturesque Abbey Church of Saint-Pierre-ET-Paul in Wissembourg and on Sunday, June 22nd, in the market church in Bad Bergzabern. Both concerts start at 7 p.m. and admission is free - a great offer for all music lovers!

a musical highlight

The focus of the concert is the performance of Mozart's coronation fair, which is also known as "Coronation Mass in C major, KV 317". This impressive composition was written for the Easter service in 1779 in the Salzburg Cathedral and has been very popular with festive occasions since then. One could even say that it has fought for a permanent place in Kaiser and Königsrönungen, which underlines its historical importance.

The project choir and the project orchestra, which from members of the school community and alumni, have made a varied program design. In addition to the coronation fair, other great works by artists such as Bach and Paganini are performed.

the soloists and the instrumentalists

The soloists include talented vocal artists: Franziska Hauptmann (soprano), Lea Becker (old), Lukas Grimm (tenor) and Orlando Schenk (bass) will enchant the listeners with their voices. Excellent musicians are also at work on the instruments: Silas Schaubhut and Lukas Grimm are the organ, Leander H. Resch the violin and Gillian Hasa play the oboe. The concert management is in the capable hands of Wolfram Müller.

The special meaning of the oboe and the clearly structured musical language of the coronation fair illustrate the high level of this performance. The fair itself contains both symphonic elements and a loving balance between solo voices and choir, which makes it a real experience.

The musical examination of the coronation fair not only shows the tradition of musical education at the school, but also the motivation of the community to celebrate this anniversary. The spirit of the participants, paired with the historical legacy of the school, will make these events something very special.

Looking back at 500 years of school history, it turns out that education and culture are very important at school and have shaped numerous generations. So if you like music and want to experience the story of the Alfred Grosser school center, you should never miss the two concerts.
