AWO Mosbach: Preliminary project for solidarity and social values!
Mosbach, Deutschland - Yesterday the annual general meeting of the AWO City Association Mosbach took place under the direction of Gabriele Teichmann. At this event, not only the national recognition of the city association was recognized, but also celebrated the good figures in membership development. The city association has had a positive development in recent years and is an important member of the AWO family. When asked about the basic values of the workers' welfare, Teichmann clearly understood that freedom, justice, equality, solidarity and tolerance will continue to be the focus of action in the future.
A special focus was on the subject of sustainability in this meeting. The AWO wants to anchor this aspect even more in its value -based work. This commitment also extends far beyond the German borders. According to the AWO International [ AWOUNTERNATAL.de ], AWO is active in Ukraine and supports the reconstruction of social institutions, such as schools and women's houses. The support is expected to continue until the end of 2023, with the organizations in the region to help people in need.
important services in Ukraine
The AWO has been intensively involved in Ukraine since July 2022. Support offers include the distribution of food and hygiene articles, psychological help and the evacuation of needy older people from front areas. In winter aid, the AWO cooperates with Volkshilfe Austria to help more than 1,400 families to repair their damaged houses. Schools and kindergartens in Irpin, Butscha and Hostomel were also renovated, which are urgently needed to provide infrastructure for over 16,000 people.
in Tschernihiv and Sumy there is also renovation work on classrooms and the establishment of "heat stubborns". Mobile nursing teams offer support for adults and children and take care of the basic care of those affected. Thanks to the AWO, refugee people in Zhytomyr also find psychological help, which is provided by group and individual sessions.
honors and events
Another beautiful setting of the event was the honor of long -time members by Mayor Julian Stipp. A total of eight members were honored for their loyalty to the AWO: Gudrun Grasi, Helmut Grasi and Stefanie Grimm were able to look forward to 10 years of belonging, while Telma Ebert can look back on 15 years. Cornelius Kotulla was honored for 30 years, Birgit Büringer for 40 years and Christa Hutter and Lucia Jahn even celebrated a proud 45 years in the AWO.
In order to continue to strengthen the community, numerous activities of the AWO local association Obrigheim are continued. The AWO program appeals to all interested parties and ranges from events such as "AWO blooms on" to fairy tale balm to steam noodle meals and information evenings with deputies. The exchange with schools and kindergartens is also needed to take the concerns and needs of youth seriously.
The history of workers' welfare goes back to 1919 when Marie Juchacz was founded. Since then, the association has established itself as one of the oldest and constant social organizations in Germany [ awo-100-chichten.de ]. It's nice to see how this spirit remains alive in today's projects and the daily commitment of the AWO.
In view of all of these activities, it is clear that the AWO has a good hand in being there for people in need and representing a strong social voice that goes far beyond the borders of Germany. The committed work of the Mosbach city association and the large number of support projects in Ukraine show that there is still a lot to do.a strong sense of community, coupled with a visionary future, that's what makes AWO so special.
