Radiant dancers and hot rhythms: Öhringen dances around the trophies!
Öhringen, Deutschland - On the last weekend in Juni, a special sport event took place in Öhringen: the trophy-series 2025 The master class attracted over 167 couples from various corners of Germany and international guests, even from Switzerland. The event, organized by TSC Rot-Weiss Öhringen e.V., offered the dancers a great stage in the picturesque ambience of the old town and the castle garden, while the summer temperatures were both a challenge and a pleasant flair. Despite the heat, the spectators praised a consistently high quality of the performances, especially in the standard tournaments of Master III.
The Reporting emphasizes that many competitors also started in several age groups. Mario and Annabelle Vidovic, who completed 45 dances this weekend, were particularly remarkable! On the first day of the tournament, the spectators experienced a dynamic atmosphere, while on the second day despite more than 60 % short -term cancellation of couples, the quality of the dances did not decrease. A total of 50 tournaments were held on both days.
The mentors of the dancers
Ernst Jäger and Karmen Kelle from TSC Rot-Weiss Öhringen made it to the final of the Masters III S-Standard class and took 7th place. Such achievements are not only beautiful for the dancers, but also a reason to be proud of their own club. At such an event there is a lot in the background: a big thank you went to the helpers on site, who took care of the tournament management, technology and meals and even provided smaller paving activities by the DRK Öhringen.
The food was also an important part of the event. Here the participants and spectators were able to enjoy pizza, sandwiches and cakes. So the entire tournament not only became sporty, but also a culinary success.
A look at the tournament dance
What exactly is the tournament dance? There are a total of 11 classic tournament dances, including five standard dances such as the slow waltz and the Viennese waltz as well as five Latin dances such as the Samba and the Cha-Cha-Cha. The dancers are divided into various age and performance classes, such as juniors, main group and seniors. Each couple starts in the D-Class, where only certain figures apply and they can collect first points.
In order to climb into higher classes, the dancers collect points and placements that are crucial for their career in dance sport. The evaluation guidelines are strict; An odd number of judges decides in hidden evaluation of the progress of the dancers, who can then compete against each other in up to four rounds. At least five to ten placements are necessary for the climb, which maintains quality and competition in dance sport.
With the successful first trophy weekend in 2025 and the anticipation for upcoming events, it is clear: in Öhringen the dance sports culture will continue to be held up and celebrated.
