Patrick Wegener from the SPD prevailed in the first ballot with impressive 66.9 percent of the vote. Incumbent Thilo Michler, who has to vacate the town hall after 16 years in office, came to 30.4 percent. Peter Lohnert, also independent, received only 2.6 percent of the vote. The turnout was 46.79 percent and was therefore significantly higher than in 2017 than only 19.7 percent of those entitled to vote.
