Harmonious annual general meeting of TSG Öhringen inspires members
In Öhringen, where TSG Öhringen 1848 e.V. is based, the focus is on sport and community. At the most recent annual general meeting, TSG, a traditional sports club with over 3,200 members, was able to look back on a harmonious year. This meeting, which not only served to review the finances but also to select new board members, was a successful gathering of old and young. Club president Peter Gebert presented the successes of the past year and encouraged members to get actively involved.
TSG Öhringen was founded in 1848 and has undergone impressive development over the years. The merger of the Öhringen men's gymnastics club and the Hohenloher sports club in 1933 laid the foundation for one of the most versatile sports clubs in Baden-Württemberg. TSG currently offers numerous departments, including football, handball, basketball and more. Their venue, the Otto Meister Stadium, has space for 1,000 spectators and is a busy place for sporting events.
A look at the services
The TSG football team is active in the Württemberg regional league and is currently playing for the top spots. In the 2024/25 season, the team took 1st place in the Franconian District League, which marks an excellent upward trend. Historically, the club became champions in various leagues several times after the Second World War and completed various promotions and relegations, which prove the vitality of the club. In 2008/09 the team secured the championship in the district league and was promoted.
There is also a lot going on in the handball department. In 2012, this merged with TSV Pfedelbach to form HSG Hohenlohe, which strengthened the focus on the joint development and continued existence of handball sport in the region.
