According to SWR, a 40-year-old driver overlooked the end of the traffic jam around 11 a.m. and raced into a stationary truck without braking. Luckily, the driver of the truck, 56 years old, stayed uninjured. The driver, however, was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident.
This tragic incident completely closed the road in the direction of Heilbronn for several hours. The police estimate property damage of around 25,000 euros. The rescue work and investigation into the exact cause of the accident required a lot of effort from rescue workers and the police, which led to longer traffic jams.
