Protests against Trump: violent riots and military parade in sight!
Heidelberg, Deutschland - Today, on June 14, 2025, the USA is again at the focus of attention. On the occasion of the 79th birthday of US President Donald Trump, D.C. an opulent military parade under the motto "No Kings". This event is announced as the most spectacular military parade in the country's history and celebrates the 250th anniversary of the US Army. At the same time, the protests across the country are just as impressive. Thousands of people gather on Liberty Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia to express their opinion about the current government.
The protests are a result of the dissatisfied citizens, spurred on by Trump's controversial policy, especially with regard to immigration. In Los Angeles, the city, which is increasingly in focus, large demonstrations have formed in which the citizens protest against the immigration authority ICE, and the militarization of their city by Trump. This mobilization has not only attracted local protesters, but also the right -wing extremist group "Proud Boys", which participates in the protests.
The "No Kings" movement
The "No Kings" movement has set itself the goal of demonstrating against the Trump government nationwide. Under the motto "No thrones, no crowns, no kings", over 1800 demos are planned in all 50 states, which shows that resistance to the government is far -reaching. In addition, the movement is supported by the 50501 initiative, which ensures that protests take place in every state. Online training for local organizers are even offered for this. During the military parade in Washington, however, no “no kings” demonstrations are allowed because Trump has indicated that he will impose “very great violence” in any riots.
The protests are particularly pronounced in Los Angeles. Mayor Karen Bass has clearly spoken out against Trump's approach, which she describes as a "test case" for the federal government. She criticized the mobilization of the National Guard as a "provocative measure" and expressed that financing problems and ambiguities in the command structure prevailed. Only a fraction of the national guards seem to be active, while the rest in federal buildings lingered without a clear task.
The use of the military and the security precautions
regarding the security precautions in Washington D.C. the government also shows its determination. With 30 kilometers of fences and 25 kilometers barriers, a massive presence of security forces is ensured. Thousands of officials are in use, supplemented by monitoring drones, to ensure that the parade and the protests do not escalate. There are also reports on riots in Los Angeles that make additional concerns to the authorities.
A violent incident already occurred in Las Vegas on the morning of June 14, the connection with the protests remains unclear for the time being. In Washington D.C. have now also been arrested around 60 veterans and military members who took part in the protests.
While the protests continue to grow, it remains to be seen how the government will react to the demands of the citizens. The next few days will promise tensions between the demonstrators and the security forces - and the nation's eyes are aimed at the events.
