The Emmertsgrunder Cultural Summer 2025 in Heidelberg starts on June 22nd with a diverse, free program until the end of August.

Cultural Summer Emmertsgrund 2025: A festival of horizons awaits you!
In the picturesque surroundings of Heidelberg, everything is about culture, because the second Emmertsgrunder Cultural Summer will take place from June 22nd, 2025. Under the motto “Expand horizons”, this should once again become a meeting place for young and old and help strengthen the neighborhood. The opening will be carried out by the mayor of culture, Martina Pfister, and the varied program promises to make the summer an unforgettable experience.
The cultural summer extends until August 31, 2025 and offers a wealth of free events in the Emmertsgrund Forum area, where the community center and the popular HeidelBERG Café are right next to it. Anyone who loves exciting events should not miss the opening concert of the Galapagos Big Band on June 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. Another highlight will be the appearance of rapper Batdal54 on June 27th, where local talent will also have the opportunity to show off their skills in a young rapper contest.
A colorful program for everyone
The event program promises variety and entertainment - there are readings, concerts, dance performances, cinema programs and even a breakdance workshop. Particularly noteworthy is the “Open Stage”, where local clubs, institutions and artists can perform. Registrations are already possible and those interested can contact David Hilkert from the Emmertsgrund district management at hilkert@emmertsgrund.de.
From musical performances in June, such as those from pop singer/songwriter Joudi or Indian fusion band Induskrit, to cooking and dance workshops in July - there is something for every taste here. The Emmertsgrundfest, which takes place on July 12th and 13th, also promises to be a big attraction. Events such as Ira Peter's reading on July 25th and the WoAnders Open Air Cinema on August 1st are also particularly popular.
Helping hands and support from the city
To ensure the success of the project, we are looking for volunteers to help set up and dismantle the seating. The city of Heidelberg can look forward to funding of around 9,000 euros, which will make the cultural summer possible together with partners such as the HeidelBERG Café, the Emmertsgrund district association, the Emmertsgrund-Boxberg cultural group and the Augustinum. In doing so, the city underlines its commitment to local culture and coexistence in the district.
In addition to the on-site events, the cultural summer as part of the “LOKAL – Program for Culture and Engagement” is viewed in the context of a broader initiative aimed at building long-term networks in communities with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants. By involving a wide range of actors, such as schools, sports clubs and local companies, the cultural scene is made more lively and new partnerships are promoted. Information about this program and the opportunity to apply for funding are available on the Federal Cultural Foundation website.
Whether you want to clap along loudly, dance or just enjoy a good piece of music – the Emmertsgrunder Cultural Summer invites everyone to broaden their horizons and have a great time together. Be there!
