Police cover 20 violations: alcohol and tobacco sold to young people!

Schorndorf, Deutschland - in Schorndorf and the surrounding communities on June 11, 2025, a large -scale test purchase campaign by the police, which aimed at compliance with the youth protection law. In the period from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., officials checked a total of 60 sales outlets, including supermarkets, kiosks and petrol stations. At the end of the day, the results were both revealing and worrying: In 20 shops, legal provisions were violated - alcohol and tobacco products were sold to young people, which can also be seen in comparison to the last check in May 2024, where the violations were also very popular, but something went back.

The police had sent five young test buyers through the shops, accompanied by two officials. What came out of it was sobering: With every third attempt, the youngsters received the desired, i.e. a third of the tests were successful. However, the employees could be praised in 40 of the tested sales outlets because they had masterfully complied with the legal requirements.

fines and other measures

The investigators have already initiated fine procedures against 20 responsible persons in order to be responsible for the business owners. The big questions are now aimed at the necessary awareness: In view of the proven violations, the police emphasize how important it is to clarify the sales outlets more about the guidelines. "A good hand in compliance with the youth protection regulations is essential," says a message.

The Rems-Murr district shows with these controls that the protection of minors is not only a lip service but is actively enforced. Occasionally, the need for such measures is confirmed by similar reports. Other cities, such as in Bavaria, reported similarly terrifying test results, where young people were able to easily get alcohol. In Regensburg, for example, almost half of the young test buyers were able to acquire high -proof alcohol, although there are clear legal requirements.

The different regulations in Germany and Switzerland

The differences in the youth protection regulations in Germany and Switzerland also ensure conversation. Depending on the canton in Switzerland, the rules for the handover age and the advertising restrictions for alcohol and tobacco vary. This increases urgency to ensure a uniform understanding nationwide.

Finally, it can be said: Although the number of violations has decreased, youth protection remains an important topic that continues to need increased attention. A broad awareness of the dangers of alcohol and tobacco in youth should be promoted so that the next test purchase campaign may lead to success more than it was in the past few months.
