Russell conquers pole position-Verstappen under pressure in Canada!

Montreal, Kanada - The Formula 1 circus stops in the picturesque Canada and once again brings up tension with the Grand Prix of Canada. As reported zvw, George Russell von Mercedes secured the coveted first starting place with an excellent time of 1: 10.899 minutes. In doing so, he prevailed against the strong competition, especially against Max Verstappen from Red Bull, who snapped second place.

but the field is closely together. Oscar Piatri, the current World Cup leader and representative of McLaren, placed third. Piatri also leads the overall ranking, and that with a comfortable lead of ten points on his team -mate Lando Norris, who was only able to take seventh place in the qualification.

Verstappens Druck and Hülkenberg's rise

Verstappen, who triumphed at the Canada Grand Prix in the past three years, is under increased observation. After a crash in the last race in Spain, he received three penalty points, and another could mean a racing lock for him at the upcoming run in Austria. Despite this burden, the world champion has made it clear that he does not want to change his driving style.

for Nico Hülkenberg, the only German driver in the field, it is going up properly. He initially qualified for the 13th place, but can start from the front row due to a punishment between Yuki Tsunoda, his competitor at Red Bull and will therefore go into the race from 12th place.

A look at the statistics

A look at the Formula 1 statistics shows how exciting the current season is. Piatri leads the overall ranking with 64 points, followed by Norris with 54 points and Verstappen, which has 49 points on the account. This distribution of points makes it clear that the tension is great this year because the drivers still have numerous races in front of them.

The challenges are great. Fun aside, the drivers also have to concentrate on the performance of their car, especially in a close competition like this. In qualification, Sainz and Norris were able to demonstrate their superiority by scored with strong times.

How will the whole happen develop? Are the positions a safe sign of the racing results, or can the drivers mix the tension again properly in the race? When we remember past races, it will be exciting to see whether Verstappen has the opportunity to continue his winning streak in Canada, or whether Russell and Piatri can stop him.
