In the Rems-Murr district, the first Advent not only created a festive atmosphere, but also worried news about drunk driving. On December 2, 2025, several drivers who were under the influence of alcohol were stopped by the police.
In Fellbach, a 44-year-old Jeep driver was killed at 4:20 a.m. He was walking in serpentine lines, which immediately attracted the attention of law enforcement officers. The breath alcohol test showed more than 1.1 per mille, which meant that his driver's license was revoked and a blood sample was ordered. The situation was similarly serious in Schorndorf, where a 45-year-old VW Crafter driver was checked at 11:40 p.m. His breath alcohol test showed around 1.6 per mille, which also led to a suspension of his driver's license and a blood test, as Stuttgarter News reported.
Drunk cyclists and pedestrians cause a stir
But it wasn't just drivers who had high blood alcohol levels. A 34-year-old cyclist in Althütte also drew attention to himself on Sunday evening, around 9:25 p.m., when he fell alone. His breath alcohol test showed around 2.2 per mille, and a preliminary test also showed an influence of THC. The police will file a complaint against him, as Presseportal reports.
The incidents in the Rems-Murr district call the police into action: they carry out regular checks to remove dangerous drivers from traffic. The increasing number of drunk road users is a sign that there is a need for action.

In addition to the alcohol-related traffic violations, there were also other incidents. The authorities reported an attempted break-in in Allmersbach im Tal, in which unknown perpetrators pried an entrance door.
