Bietigheim-Bissingen: New multifunctional hall for sports and events!

The city of Bietigheim-Bissingen can look forward to a new multi-purpose hall, which will be designed as a multifunctional three-field sports hall. The hall called “Crown” meets the requirements of the handball Bundesliga and offers space for up to 3,000 spectators. This will make it a central attraction for sports and events in the city. The planning was largely driven forward by the Cologne investor group Thesauros Asset Management AG, which recently adapted the original draft. For example, the planned hotel between the hall and the Ege-Trans-Arena will no longer be implemented, which should not limit the possible uses of the hall, but expand it, as district newspaper Bietigheimer Newspaper reports.

The hall is used not only for handball games, but also for school sports, concerts and other events. Particular attention is paid to the wide range of possible uses. For example, areas are planned for a kiosk and an ice cream parlor. In addition, a spacious conference and event area will be created for up to 350 people, which can be used for a wide variety of occasions. The technical infrastructure will also be kept compact, which will ensure more open space, emphasizes the district newspaper Bietigheimer Zeitung.

Well thought-out planning for sports and leisure

The clock is already ticking: The building application for the hall is scheduled to be submitted in the second quarter of 2026, while construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. Completion of the “Crown” is targeted for the second quarter of 2028. Well thought-out planning is the be-all and end-all here, because the new hall should not only provide space for sporting activities, but also increase the quality of life in the district. In order to minimize noise pollution for residents on Max-Born-Straße, the main entrances are strategically oriented to the south, southeast and northeast. This makes it clear that not only the needs of the athletes but also those of the residents were taken into consideration, as the district newspaper Bietigheimer Zeitung underlines.

In addition, there will be an attractive outdoor area with parking spaces, lounge areas, green islands and areas for food trucks directly between the new hall and the Ege-Trans-Arena. Around 142 parking spaces and around 130 parking spaces for bicycles are planned, which will optimally adapt the hall to the needs of sports and event visitors.

The role of experienced partners

The planning and implementation of this ambitious project is supported by the expertise of SHA, an experienced partner in sports facility construction. With their experience in working with Bundesliga clubs and smaller clubs, they are well equipped to design highly functional sports facilities. Their focus on cooperation with sports authorities and municipalities is an important aspect in adapting the projects to the needs of the general public, as can be read on the SHA website SHA.

Although the exact costs for this large project are not yet known, it can be said that there is great anticipation for the new multi-purpose hall in Bietigheim-Bissingen. The new Crown is expected to be not only a center for sports, but also a place for the community.
