Train photography and café talks: A Sunday in Altbach

on Sunday, July 17, 2025, a meeting of railroad lovers took place in front of the popular café in Altbach an der KBS750. On this occasion, photographers and interested parties were able to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and capture the passing trains. The first train that passed the platform was the Allgäu-IC2012, which was drawn by the robust locomotives 218 428 and 446. This was taken up with great enthusiasm by the participants of the event, because the two machines are real classics and at the railway fans very popular. Lok-Report reports that the second train, the Karreierece TZ 9485 on the route from Munich to Stuttgart, also to the delight of those present rushed past.

The event was not only characterized by the loving camera introduction of the participants, but also by the remarkable presence of various locomotives. Among other things, the Railpool-Lok 186 287, which transported truck train machines to Kornwestheim. In addition, locomotives such as the 193 156 with containers and the 193 185, which drove in the opposite direction with Mars. The view was partially clouded by clouds, which, however, did not cloud the mood of the photographers.

Another highlight was the Hanse-Leplok V100 2267, which drove towards Ulm, and the DBC Lok 152 133, which from ULM introduced with a KLV (combined charging transactions). The Arverio ET5.12 was also on the Mex16 with the impressive baptismal name “Geislingen an der Steige”. The event offered the event a real festival for the eyes and the camera.

A red 425 307 was used on the popular Re5 from Friedrichshafen to Stuttgart. This train came into the picture with an intermediate car in the BW colors "Bwegt Regio S-Bahn" and once again demonstrated the variety of vehicles on the KBS750. It is such moments that bring the train lovers together and rekindle the fascination for the railway.

Zugfinder also emphasizes that there was a failure of the train on July 15, 2025 due to repair work. Unfortunately, such disorders are not uncommon and affect many rail customers.
