Sprintercup in Leonberg: VfL Sindelfingen is swimming to gold hat trick!

Leonberger Freibad, Leonberg, Deutschland - A real festival of the swimming enthusiasts took place last weekend in the outdoor pool of the city of Leonberg. The 28. Sprintercup of the Wasserfreunde Leonberg e.V. attracted around 300 participants from 17 different clubs from July 5th to 6th, 2025, including 30 swimmers of VfL Sindelfingen. This event not only offered the opportunity to gain competition experience, but also presented a highlight in the competition calendar of many young athletes.

The goal of the VfL swimmers was clear: gaining relay experience and giving the best together. With a total of 14 4-team teams, the club competed in the disciplines 4x50m layers and 4x50m freestyle, both in the female and in the male and mixed categories. The enthusiastic atmosphere in the outdoor pool was reflected in the high -quality performance.

The results of the seasons were impressive: in the C-youth (born 2012-2013), VfL Sindelfingen won impressive 4 gold and 1 silver medal. There were even 6 gold medals, 1 bronze and a 4th place in the D-youth (born 2014-2015). The e-youth (born in 2016 and younger) contributed a bronze medal. The individual races were also a complete success: with a total of 150 starts, the Sindelfinger swimmers were able to win 35 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals.

The athletes who were able to collect medals with several starts should be emphasized. These include Benjamin Bauer, Tim Boese, Hannah Brauer, Noa Ivan Glavas, Laura Gsell, Dominik Jagic, Ezra Kralick, Jaron Mössner and Clemens Alexander Schmidt. Over the 50m routes, some swimmers achieved the qualification for the final. Hannah Brauer, Lukas Fritzsche, Noa Ivan Glavas, Laura Gsell, Dominik Jagic, Anne Victoria Kufleitner, Jaron Mössner, Clemens Alexander Schmidt, Julian Schweizer and Ella Slupski among the best swimmers.

The medals in the final were also awarded in an exciting competition. Gold medals went to Noa Ivan Glavas, Hannah Brauer and Jaron Mössner. Silver grabbed Anne Victoria Kufleitner, Clemens Alexander Schmidt and Hannah, while Bronze was distributed to Lukas Fritzsche, Noa Ivan Glavas, Hannah Brauer and Jaron Mössner. The coaching team, consisting of Angelika Illeson, Bernhard Kömpf, Stefanie Gsell and Nina Löffler, was visibly proud of the achievements shown and the great team feeling that was felt during the competition.

Positive response from the entire team and the fans shows that the event was a complete success. The Sprintercup in Leonberg will certainly attract many swimmers in the coming year, for which it is said: "In the places, ready, go!"
