Stau-chaos in Baden-Württemberg: vacationers must be patient!

The weekend is just around the corner and with it the big rush to the streets in Baden-Württemberg! Many people from other federal states make their way to summer vacation. The start of the holiday in North Rhine-Westphalia and the vacation time in numerous other federal states ensure a high volume of traffic, especially on the A6, A5, A7, A81 and A8 motorways. Causes are already inevitable here, especially around the locked junction Schwetzingen/Hockenheim on the A6. SWR reports that Sunday is expected to be a bit quieter.

Holger Bach from ADAC Württemberg emphasizes that Baden-Württemberg as a transit country and popular holiday region is particularly affected by travel traffic. The ADAC has valuable tips for everyone who is on the streets at the weekend. It is recommended to follow the signs on the A6 and to better leave the navigation devices in the glove compartment. Anyone who comes from Heilbronn or Karlsruhe will be redirected to the A5 from the Walldorf motorway junction, while road users from Saarbrücken are directed to the A61 at the Frankenthal motorway cross.

Current traffic situation on the A6

The A6 remains a central point in the traffic jam. On the morning of July 12, 2025, some traffic disruptions were found on the A6 from Mannheim to Heilbronn, but have now been remedied. So report stau.info that cleaning work on the right lane took place between Wiesloch/Rauenberg and Sinsheim. The hazard reports between Ansbach and Herrieden as well as between Crailsheim and Schnelldorf are also canceled.

An interactive platform for the current traffic situation is available at autobahn.de . Here, drivers can call up information about the longest traffic jams, construction sites and general traffic situations around the clock. The dashboard enables continuous monitoring and thus offers an overview of disorders and travel times.

weather forecast for the weekend

The weather forecast could also have an impact on the travel plans. Temperatures between 22 and 28 degrees are expected on Saturday, with a low risk of thunderstorms. In the northern part of the state it remains a bit cloudy. On Sunday, on the other hand, the temperatures can reach up to 29 degrees, but smaller thunderstorms on Lake Constance and Hochrhein are possible, while in the north there are occasional showers.

With these information and tips, travelers can better plan and possibly avoid one or the other traffic jam. Stay informed, drive carefully and enjoy your trip through Baden-Württemberg!
