Fire risk in the fuel camp: Fire brigade Constance trains across borders!

Konstanz, Deutschland - The Konstanz fire brigade and the Kreuzlingen fire brigade carried out a joint exercise in Switzerland on June 18, 2025, which not only presented the emergency services with a real challenge, but also further increased the cross -border cooperation. Every year the two fire departments come together to get to know their ways of working better and promote exchange. This year, 30 firefighters from Germany took part in the exercise with five vehicles.

The exercise scenario was a fire in a fuel bearing that was caused by fuel as a result of an accident when filling a truck. A burning fuel lake occurred, while at least six people were present on the site. The main tasks of the firefighters consisted of saving people and fighting the fire. In order to master the situation, a water supply from nearby Lake Constance was quickly built up. This collaboration showed how important well -coordinated action is in dangerous missions where every second counts.

satisfaction and analysis after exercise

After the exercise, detailed debriefing took place in order to identify possible improvement areas. The Konstanz fire brigade was extremely satisfied with the course of the exercise and was grateful for the perfect organization on the part of the Kreuzlingen fire brigade. Such exercises are not only an exciting challenge for the emergency services, they also strengthen trust and familiarity between the two fire brigades.

The need for close cooperation is not only limited to the region on Lake Constance. Similar exercises also take place in other parts of Germany, such as in Emmerich and Gelderland-Midden. Here the fire brigades in the port of Spijk practiced handling the fires and an accident on the Rhine. The knowledge gained there about communication and tactical approach is also important for the fire brigades in Baden-Württemberg, since international operations are becoming increasingly common.

growing awareness of cross -border cooperation

The topic of cross -border cooperation is becoming increasingly relevant, especially in the case of disasters such as forest fires or floods. Andreas Rümpel, an expert in this area, emphasizes the importance of personal connections and regular exercises. These promote contact and ensure that emergency services can react quickly and efficiently in an emergency. The mutual exchange and the joint preparation are decisive to work smoothly in an emergency, regardless of the national borders.

An important challenge remains the acquisition of young firefighters to ensure the emergency service in the future. The State Fire Brigade Association Saxony, which includes 43,000 active firefighters, is therefore planning activities for young fire brigade. The trust and the common goals of the emergency services are also crucial for successful cooperation across borders.

These cross -border exercises are an important sign that the cohesion is also strong in crisis situations. The Konstanz fire brigade and the Kreuzlingen fire brigade have once again proven that they are well prepared for the emergency.
