Heidenheim, Deutschland - Heidenheim is preparing for an exciting weekend from June 28th to 29th, 2025, when the trendy “contemporaries” festival opens the doors of the locomotive shed. The focus is on the versatile artist Jeff Beer, who will cause a sensation with five special events. Beer is no stranger: as a musician, composer, painter, graphic artist, photographer, sculptor and author, he has made a name for himself and surprises the audience with his creative range. [Schwäbische] reports that his musical career in the field of free improvisation and rock music began and he studied at the University of Music in Würzburg.
beer may call his own awards, including the Bavarian State Prize for Music from 1986. Scholarships led him to the pulsating art centers Paris and New York, where he came into contact with greats like Steve Reich and Phil Niblock. This experiences not only shaped his musical development, but also his visual work. Beer has been documenting his habitat with the camera for around 40 years and has created a unique perspective for the world.

The festival starts on Saturday, June 28th, at 2 p.m. with an exciting opening of the exhibition, which is accompanied by a lecture by Beers about his sculptures. He will then present his project "Seven" on drums, followed by the "Portrait Jeff Beer" concert, where his works and texts are musically supported by the ensemble Les Éclats du Son. This orchestra, founded by Sebastian Voltz and Max Riefer in 2002, has increased over the years and is also strengthened by Angelika Luz, Martin Jaggi and Clara Wigger. [Jeff Beer] emphasizes in this context that the improvisation in the evening will captivate the audience at 9:30 p.m. with sounds for one of his drawings.
on Sunday, June 29th, a lecture on "Jeff Beer and Photography" continues at 11 a.m. The crowning glory is celebrated at 5 p.m. with the “connections” concert, in which music pieces by Dieter Mack, Katharina Roth, Joey Tan, Jonas Baes, Peter Ivan Edwards and of course Jeff Beer are performed. It is particularly nice that admission to the entire festival is free of charge, but donations are welcome.

Jeff Beer is not only active in Heidenheim. The artist currently lives in the Upper Palatinate, where he has transformed an abandoned homestead into an inspiring space for art, music and language. On the occasion of his exhibition "Vom Wasser", which will be shown in the Tirschenreuth district office from August 5 to August 22, 2025, he presents a selection of his work, which deals with the water phenomena of Waldnaab. The vernissage is opened by an introduction and piano music by Beer. [Jeff Beer] shows how complex and profound his artistic vision is.
In addition, Beer will also take part in the International Symposium for Composition and Percussion in July 2025 in Trstěnice in the Czech Republic, which underlines its international network.
