Young Waldburger becomes a priest: a historical day for the community!

Bad Schussenried, Deutschland - Tim Miller faces a new chapter of life: On July 12, the 25-year-old will be priest in Bad Schussenried. His first Holy Mass, the so -called primary, will celebrate a month later, on July 13th, in the parish church of St. Magnus in his home town of Waldburg. A very special moment not only for him, but also for the community, since no Waldburg priest has been consecrated since Theodor Weber consecration in 1936, as the Schwäbische reported.

Tim, who grew up in Edensbach near Waldburg, describes himself as someone who did not have a "enlightenment experience", but has gradually decided on the priestly path. His childhood was characterized by a normal family structure, and he was an active member of the church youth group and altar boy. His interest in the church was particularly suggested when he began to write a church -historical novel about the Pope election of 1288 at the age of 16.

the way to the ordination

Although originally no ambitions were a priest or teacher, Tim studied political science, administrative science and international relations at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen at the request of his parents. But the inner urge to study theology grew stronger. After an internship in 2016 in the German embassy at the Holy Chair in Rome, he was specifically confronted with the question of whether he wanted to become a priest.

The crucial step in Tim's life came in April 2020, when he entered the Wilhelmstift in Tübingen, the theologian convict of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. His family only learned about it after his decision, but reacted consistently to his choice.

celebrations and importance of consecration

The ordination, a central sacrament of the Catholic Church, comprises a variety of significant rituals. Only priests are allowed to celebrate the Eucharist and manage parishes, which underlines the importance of this whitening, as well as "https://www.katholisch.de/artikel/48017-die-priestweihe-und-ein-im-Wandel" Class = "Source_3"> Katholisch.de . In addition to the consecration promise, the laying of hands is part of the essential part of the ceremony. These ritual acts symbolize the reception of the Holy Spirit and the intervention of God in the life of the future priest.

Tim's consecration will take place in a festive framework, similar to the priestly consecration of Ivan Šarić in the St. Gallen cathedral, where over 1200 believing part of the celebration was. The festive mood and the feeling of the community can also be expected for the coming consecration. Bishop Markus Büchel, who will lead the consecration, will surely keep a motivating sermon and address the courage that is necessary for this important step.

With his vicarion in a municipality within the diocese, which follows according to the Primiz, Tim is properly challenged to bring in his knowledge and commitment. At the same time, this is an opportunity to experience the community intensively and to grow in faith.

in Waldburg and beyond, the anticipation for ordination and Tim's first Holy Mass will be great. May this path be blessed for him and the community that supports him!
