Great success with Sport with fun”: Children celebrate medals and trophies!

Weinheim, Deutschland - On July 16, 2025, the Schlosspark in Weinheim shone full of life when the event “Sport with Fun” (SMS) attracted over 500 children at over 20 exciting stations. The event, which has been launched by Lebenshilfe e.V. for more than 20 years, has set itself the goal of bringing children and young people together with and without handicap. Mayor Manuel Just emphasized the immense popularity of the initiative at the award ceremony and emphasized the associated opportunity for local clubs to gain new members. All participants were happy to receive medals and the joy was great when the children received the trophies for most participants in their facilities.

Under applause and cheerful splashes, the children posed for a group picture that held the joy of this special day. The "Sport with fun" event is now taking a year break before the association "Weinheimer Nordstadtfreunde" will take over the organization in 2027. Marion Waltz, who was honored for her voluntary work and was previously responsible for the sports organization in the town hall, was particularly honored for this.

World Children's Day celebrates diversity and rights

also in Weinheim will take place in September World Children's Day, which is celebrated this year under the motto "Children's Rights and Diversity". The Weinheim e.V. meeting bridge has prepared an exciting program with creative handicrafts, games and a large bouncy castle. The children can take part in interactive workshops to learn more about their rights, such as education, participation and a safe future. You can support support from the Society for Environmental Education (GUB) and from Parents for Future Weinheim.

The focus is on strengthening awareness of child rights and social participation. In a positive environment, team spirit and cooperation are encouraged, which is confirmed by the feedback from parents and children. A few months ago there was already a kite festival at the glider airfield in Weinheim, in which over twenty families had the opportunity to build dragons together and let them climb. Here, too, the organizer received a lot of praise for the organization.

For the future, other wonderful events have already been announced: a cinema event on November 15, 2024, including free admission as well as popcorn and drinks, and a Christmas bakery on November 29, 2024, for which registrations are required for participation.
