New walking club in Hockenheim: Movement for seniors in the countryside!
In Hockenheim, a new and refreshing offer for older people will be launched in Hockenheim from June 18, 2025: the walking club, initiated by the city's senior citizens' office, is aimed at senior citizens who need support to walk, be it with a rollator or wheelchair. The goal of this initiative? The networking of older people and promoting movement in the fresh air. That sounds like a great opportunity to grab fresh air and close new acquaintances!
The meetings take place every first and third Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. The next appointment is already certain - mark June 18 in your calendar! The meeting point is the Hockenheimer chatter-Bänzle on the tithe barn. The walks last about an hour and are accompanied by a pleasant atmosphere in which there are enough seating for breaks.
independent and at your own responsibility
Important to know: No trained supervisors will accompany the participants. Therefore, the participants should be able to handle assistants or wheelchairs independently. If you need additional support, you are asked to bring an accompanying person with you. After all, everything happens at your own responsibility - a little personal responsibility never hurt, especially if you want to stay active!
A registration is recommended for the event in order to be able to plan better. Interested parties can register with Kerstin Berger on 06205 21-1503 (Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or by email to seniorenbuero@hockenheim.de Of course, spontaneous and spontaneous participation are always welcome - after all, the urge for movement should not fail because of formalities!
Widerer context of movement promotion
This initiative is part of a larger concept for promoting movement for older people. Various projects aim to keep seniors actively and to promote social integration. The collection of measures and ideas that can be found on the platform gesundactiv-alter-werden.de shows how diverse the approaches to create movement offers.
For example, there is the project "Agil - active is always easier" and the "everyday training program (ATP)", which are designed especially for people over 60. These programs aim to promote health and general well -being well -being of older people and keep them in motion. Hockenheim has now established another component in this important puzzle to promote senior health.
So, dear senior citizens, grab your assistants or can grab a wheelchair and come to the walking club! Not only health is promoted here, but also strengthened the community. Get out in the fresh air and just enjoy life again - that's a fine thing!
