Advent fun in Hockenheim: events for young and old!

A lot is happening in the Hockenheim City Library in December 2025! In addition to a colorful range of events for young and old, the focus is also on looking forward to the contemplative Advent season. The library is launching a series of events that are sure to provide some great moments.

There will be one on December 3rd at 3:30 p.mGames afternoon for seniorstook place in the tithe barn, in cooperation with the senior citizens' office. Here, participants can bring their own games or choose from a wide range on site. Participation is free and coffee is offered - a cozy opportunity to spend time in good company.

Special events for children

This event is aimed at young audiences aged three and over, and pre-registration is not necessary. Happy Advent season for everyone

From December 2nd to 20th, visitors can expect a special promotion during the Advent season: During this period there is no limit on the amount of media you can borrow. In addition, non-books can be borrowed for a full 28 days. Surprise bags are also prepared for the young readers, which are designed in an age-appropriate manner.

A note for everyone who is looking forward to a visit to the library: The city library will remain closed from December 23, 2025 to January 6, 2026. Even if this means that no books can be borrowed during the holidays, the library team wishes everyone a happy and contemplative Advent season.

As already mentioned, there is a varied program not only for seniors. Other cities, such as Berlin-Mitte, also regularly host events specifically for older people, including digital consultation hours and workshops that promote life and engagement in old age.
