Career future in view: hands-on exhibition for students in the Rhein-Neckar district!
An exciting event is on the agenda in Baden-Württemberg in the coming days, as school classes can find out about careers in the highly digitalized Industry 4.0. The focus is on the educational program COACHING4FUTURE, which is coming to the Rhein-Neckar district with the DISCOVER INDUSTRY truck. This truck stops at the Ottheinrich-Gymnasium in Wiesloch and at the Max-Born-Gymnasium in Neckargemünd. This allows students to experience and try out the possibilities of modern technology up close.
The truck will be at the Ottheinrich-Gymnasium from July 14th to 16th, 2025, while the Max-Born-Gymnasium will be visited on July 17th and 18th, 2025. Students can immerse themselves in various technologies in the schoolyard of the Albert Schweitzer School in Wiesloch and in the parking lot opposite the school in Neckargemünd. There is no room for boredom here, as the hands-on exhibition offers you the chance to become active yourself. Under the guidance of young coaches from the MINT sector, participants can, among other things, use 3D scanners, program industrial robots and try out 3D printing.
Career prospects in MINT
The goal of COACHING4FUTURE, an educational network in Baden-Württemberg, is to attract young talent in the MINT disciplines - i.e. mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. The students are introduced to the diversity and creativity of MINT careers. This initiative is supported by well-known partners such as the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and the employers' association SÜDWESTMETALL. Cool workshops await the young talents: They develop smartphone apps and learn how to create CAD constructions and design board game characters.
The new technologies in trucks, where augmented reality is also used, offer another interesting perspective. Using this technology, students can learn how to maintain a chainsaw or assemble a PC - all supported by AI-powered data glasses. This not only offers young people security, but also shows them access to future-oriented careers and activities in the field of renewable energies and medical technology.
The relevance of vocational training 4.0
The initiative is not only part of a regional offer, but also fits into the larger context of Vocational Training 4.0. This new era of training and further education for skilled workers is characterized by the change towards Economy 4.0. The Federal Institute for Vocational Training (BIBB) supports this change with research and development projects in order to meet the increasing requirements for qualifications and skills. The initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research are committed to ensuring that students are optimally prepared for the requirements of the future. Comprehensive studies on the need for skilled workers were carried out between 2016 and 2018 and are continually updated.
Overall, the Mobile Technology Exhibition represents a valuable opportunity to introduce young people to the world of digital careers. It will be exciting to see how the students use these opportunities to discover their professional goals and dreams - and perhaps take the first step into a colorful future of MINT careers.
