Dr.-Fritz-Schmitt-Ring 1, 74722 Buchen, Deutschland - in Buchen there will soon be the opportunity for young people and interested adults to acquire the necessary knowledge for the baby crowd. The Kinderschutzbund Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis is organizing a comprehensive babysitter course that starts at the end of September 2025. In order to underline the importance of good childcare, the topics of "first aid to the child" and practical exercises are a central part of the course. Miriam Dimmig-Leitheim and Jasmin Gentile lead these training courses that will take place in the school center.

The course is set as follows:

• Friday, September 19, 2025, 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, 20.09.2025, 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
• Friday, 09/26/2025, 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, 09/27/2025, 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

In addition to the Child Protection Association, the DRK offers important information and skills for the care of children with its “Fit for Babysitting” course program. The course illuminates legal questions about the duty of supervision, healthy eating and household management. In 16 hours, under the guidance of qualified specialists, the participants are trained to take responsible babysitters.

The program attaches great importance to awareness of the needs of families and children. It not only conveys theoretical knowledge, but also practical approaches to the design of communication and relationship processes. If you successfully complete this course, you can even offer your own babysitting courses-a great way to get socially committed and take your first steps into new fields of activity.

The DRK has also established a babysitter mediation service to support families in the search for trained and reliable supervisors. Babysitters between the ages of 14 and 27, who have completed a DRK babysitting course with a certificate, are therefore ready. This training includes essential knowledge in areas such as game pedagogy, first aid and the care of infants. A real profit for everyone involved!

Anyone who is interested can enter their postcode or place name online to find the responsible contact person on site. This not only improves childcare, but also strengthened social engagement in the community. A successful step that shows that babysitting can be more than just a part -time job!
