Robbery in Mannheim: Two men attack 24-year-olds on the sculpture square!
On Wednesday evening, June 21, 2025, a 24-year-old man was victim of an attack on the sculpture square at the Kunsthalle in Mannheim. Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., a duo of unknown men spoke to him, who was in aggressive manner. While one of the perpetrators kicked the young man on the thigh and hit his hands several times, the other snatched his fusster pocket. This flew in an unknown direction with a bike. A first excitement was not over.
The injured party started persecution of the fleeing perpetrator. Unfortunately, he quickly lost sight of it and returned to the man who had attacked him. The latter stated that his belly bag was hidden in a nearby trash can. In fact, the bag was found there, the cash was taken, while the rest of the content was preserved. Now the department of the Mannheim criminal police is investigating this matter for robbery. The police published the descriptions of the perpetrator:
description of the perpetrator and a call for witness
- person 1: male, about 184 cm tall, around 34 years old, 90-100 kg, brown hair, Arabic appearance, wore a white t-shirt.
- person 2: male, between 170 and 173 cm tall, also about 34 years old, with short, short, short and curly black hair, Arabic appearance and also in a white t-shirt, on a bike.
The police call up all witnesses to report with information on 0621/174-4444. Information is crucial to investigate the perpetrators and to be accountable.
A look at the crime statistics shows that raids in the region are not uncommon. On June 13, 2022, a robbery took place on a Tipico betting office in Schwetzingerstadt, in which a 29-year-old man-seated man threatened the employees with a knife and captured 1,200 euros. Despite the use of 15 patrol cars, he was initially able to flee undiscovered. A month later, the perpetrator stood up to the investigators and has been in custody since then. These incidents underline that the security situation in Mannheim and the surrounding area is contradictory, as the responsible bodies report.
The Mannheim police headquarters regularly provide statistics on crime and traffic law incidents to keep the public up to date.
