Art summer at Wertheim Castle: a festival of creativity and diversity!
in the heart of Wertheim, where art and history meet, the art summer takes place for the now seventh time in the new archive of the Wertheim Castle. This popular tradition, which was launched by Axel Schöber, has been enthusiastic about art lovers and those who still want to become it since 2018. The new archive, which was commissioned by Prince Carl Thomas zu Löwenstein in 1742, is a real gem. The prince had expressed the desire to divert himself there due to the "beautiful prospects". But even if this place is usually not accessible to the public, it opens its doors as part of the art summer and lets visitors enjoy the impressive view while strolling through the exquisite gallery.
This year's vernissage for the exhibition "Between Rauschen und Relief" will take place on Sunday, July 13th, at 11:30 a.m. in the presence of the artist. As part of this exhibition, some of the works of the painter Conrad Schierenberg, who died in 2022, will be shown from mid -August to September 21. Further works by well -known gallery artists are also presented throughout the art summer. But the art summer doesn't just have a lot to offer this year. The motto "Dogs - between instinct and affection" is on the program for 2024. The exhibition will take place from July 7 to August 18, 2024 and opened on July 7th at 11:30 a.m., accompanied by a greeting by Ina Nolte from the city of Wertheim and an introduction by Axel Schöber. The group exhibition presents works by the artists Ottmar Hörl, Antje Vega, Irina Bartels and many more. The paths through art and humanity are illuminated in this creative show as well as the relationship between humans and animals. Interested parties have the opportunity to see Sandra Wörner live on the last day of the exhibition.
In addition, exciting lectures are offered, including the topic of “The Art Market and Art” by Prof. Ottmar Hörl as well as explanations by Axel Schöber on art and artificial intelligence. Well -known speakers bring a breath of fresh air to the discussions, while the exhibition is accessible to a wide audience - admission is free! The art summer is not the only attraction in the Wertheim event calendar. On July 4 and 5, 2025, the "Schöpple" wine festival will take place on tour in the Alte Grafschaft winery in Kreuzwerheim. Another highlight is the organ concert "My organ - it is an orchestra" under the direction of Gregor Knop, which takes place on July 13, 2025 in Hardheim.
