Main-Tauber-Kreis, Deutschland - On June 16, 2025, a colorful day of action took place in the Schlösschen Hofgarten, which focused on freedom. The association Schlösser, Burgen Gardens Baden-Württemberg had launched this day and invited all ages to play together, tinker and inspire them. The funding group of the castle, which set up a varied program with a lot of commitment, was particularly important.

Due to the changeable weather, numerous activities were put on dry. For families and children there was an exciting archery and a game course, which could only be used in the dry phases. Another highlight was the creative tinkering, in which the children designed beautiful paper hot air balloons. Face painting with a variety of motifs was extremely popular, and many guests took the opportunity to dress up from a newly expanded costume foundation. Costumes for men, women and of course the little ones are still being sought - a call to the community, to give old costumes to the support group, did not remain unheard of.

Upstairs were also able to immerse yourself in the world of Pippi Longstocking, which celebrates their 80th birthday this year. The opportunity to dress up as the cheeky heroine or even pose on a large cardboard horse called "Little Uncle" was particularly well received by the young guests. Michel von Lönneberga was also a topic for the creativity -promoting program.

15 committed members of the support group ensured that the afternoon in the Schlösschen Hofgarten was consistently received by visitors. Emilia Beile, nine years old, was a fire and flame for the locksmith day. The game course and face painting in particular were taken with her. Stefanie Arz, the head of the museum, drew a positive summary of the day, despite the weather -related restrictions that influenced the number of visitors.

A look outside the box

The action day in the court garden was part of a larger initiative that brutally makes it clear how important the preservation of our historical gardens and locks is in times of climate change. On September 28, 2024, the first nationwide action day on climate change will take place in historical gardens. Organized by the Working Group on German Palace Administrations, this day will offer numerous events that deal with the preservation of masterpieces of garden art. The association Schlösser, Burgen Gardens, which has been active in Berlin since its foundation in 2012 and sees itself as a platform for specialist knowledge and exchange, bravely shows how historical systems can be preserved for future generations.
