Magdeburg swimming star Eva Woitag wins double victory at DJM 2025!
The German year Championship 2025 in Berlin electrified the swimming scene on the first day of the competition. In the Olympic city, more precisely in the swimming pool at the European Sportpark, our young talents showed their skills. The 14-year-old Eva Woitag from SC Magdeburg impressed with a dazzling performance and secured two titles.
The butterfly distance was all about the Magdeburg woman. Over 200 meters of butterfly, she crowned herself to the German year champion with a time of 2: 21.41 minutes. This performance should be very popular in the swimmer community. There was also an exciting competition in the category of the 2007 category: Leni von Bonin from Dresdner SC 1898 secured first place there in 2: 14.91 minutes, while her club colleague Yara Fay Riefstahl (SC Chemnitz) only arrived as a second hundredth of a second.
more medals for young talents
Not only Eva Woitag shone: There were numerous impressive performances in different years. Mia Marie Junga (Berliner TSC) was able to win the 200 meter butterfly in 2: 23.33 minutes in 2012. In 2010, Evelyn Wegrotzki (SG HT16) won 2: 20.30 minutes of gold, while Laura Sophie Kohlmann (SG Essen) was at the top in a time of 2: 17.73 minutes.
The fourth and last swimming competitions over 100 meters of freestyle also brought amazing things. Eva Woitag was not stopped and also won this discipline with 58.52 seconds. In the 2012 vintage, Nele Rochow (Berlin TSC) started and swam to gold in 58.99 seconds. Karla Brosche (SC Chemnitz, 57.50 seconds), Sophia Brauneck (TV Ratingen, 57.99 seconds) and Linda Roth (SV Cannstatt, 55.95 seconds) were also involved in the other podium. A highlight is also Noelle Benkler (SV Nikar Heidelberg), who won first place over 100 meters of freestyle with 56.55 seconds in 2007.
a successful event with challenges for arrival
The event, which took place from June 11th to June 15th in the swimming pool at the EuropaSportpark, was perfectly organized, but it is advisable to rely on the journey by public transport. The location is only limited with parking spaces, so that many fans, parents and trainers should use the S-Bahn lines S41, S42, S8, S85, S9 or the Tram lines M5, M6 and M8 to achieve the competitions. From the main train station you are on the road for about 27 minutes by public transport. There are only a few options for drivers such as a parking space on Fritz-Riedel-Straße, which you should check beforehand.
The German vintage championship will continue to bring exciting competitions and maybe other records. Fans and families are invited to support the athletes with their presence. Thanks to the preparations of the organizers made in advance, the framework conditions for a successful week have been created.
